Supportive complementary cancer therapy

In Germany annually about 330,000 people are newly diagnosed with cancer. In many cases, the cancers are curable, since modern methods of chemotherapy and radiotherapy can effectively destroy cancer cells that cannot be surgically removed.

The treatment of cancer often also leads to serious damage to the intestine. Cytostatics, antibiotics, cortisones, or radiation can destroy the essential intestinal flora in whole or in part. Thus, the func-tion of our immune system is significantly weakened and the healing process impaired. Microbiological therapy can be a useful addition to the therapeutic treatment of cancer.

The consequences of a disturbed intestinal flora are not restricted to the digestive system. Foreign bacteria excrete toxic metabolites. These toxins and other substances also invade the inside of the body and promote illness.

If too much waste and pollutants enter the organism from the intestine, the basic system is clogged. This is the so-called "tissue fluid" between the cells. Here the substances that may enter the cell are filtered, and metabolic waste products removed from the cell.

If this does not work, the supply of vital components to the cell as well as the removal of cell waste are hampered. The detoxification organs (kidneys, liver) are overloaded. This weakens metabolism and defence.

The impairment of the immune system is also severe. It must mobilize all reserves to keep the pathogens and their toxins in the intestine at bay. Other "defensive lines" as that against cancer are weakened. The intestines send incorrect stimuli to the immune system. Thus a person becomes prone to allergies, rheumatism, skin ailments, infections and a variety of disorders. The signs of disturbed intestinal flora include bloating, belching, flatulence, intestinal colic or cramps and greasy, foul-smelling stools.

Cancer – Causes

The development of cancer is a complex process. Years to decades may pass until the actual occur-rence of a tumour. It may also be, however, that no tumour is formed at all.

Every tissue and every organ is composed of millions of cells. For development and preservation of life, the individual cells multiply. Carcinogenic substances can affect a cell so that it starts to multiply in uncontrolled and extremely fast fashion.

Rapid cell division leads to growths, known as tumours or carcinomata. The rapidly dividing cancer cells tend to invade adjacent organs and tissues. They can also spread via the bloodstream into dis-tant areas of the body. There they form so-called metastases.
 
Today there is a wide variety of cancer-causing agents (carcinogens). These include e.g.:

Many factors decide whether contact with a carcinogen leads to outbreak of the disease: e.g. hereditary predisposition, the strength of the carcinogen and the duration of contact with it. In addition, emotional stress can promote tumour growth. Influences that weaken or boost the body's defences (immune system) are of great importance. The immune system has the task of destroying cancer cells before they multiply and degenerate further. The immune system thus contributes crucially to whether a tumorous lesion is formed or not.
